SEMAINE SAINTE | JOUR 5 : L’alliance du renoncement

HOLY WEEK | DAY 5: The covenant of renunciation

“And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying,
“This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”” (Luke 22:19–20)
The table was set, but it wasn't just a meal. It was the moment heaven revealed the price of redemption.
Jesus didn't just share bread • He gave Himself.
He didn't just offer a cup • He established a covenant.
Day 5 of Holy Week unveils a profound truth:
Following Jesus isn't just about proximity, but participation in His sacrifice. At the table, everything becomes clear:
  • betrayal is exposed,
  • loyalty is tested,
  • love is demonstrated.
“Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.” (John 13:1)
In this time, God is calling a people who don't just receive the covenant, but live it.
  • Do you only remember Him… or do you also become like Him?
  • Do you only receive His sacrifice… or do you also lay down your life?
  • Are you only at the table… or are you truly in the covenant?
The cross was not an accident. It was a decision. And the covenant still holds today.
Jesus is Lord!
