2. TEACHING | FROM THE RESURRECTION TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CHURCH
After his resurrection, Jesus did not content himself with merely appearing to his disciples. He instructed them.
Before returning to the Father, Jesus prepared the disciples for the mission that was to continue after his departure.
Scripture declares: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:19)
This instruction was clear:
- The Gospel was to be proclaimed.
- The disciples were to continue the work that Jesus had begun.
Jesus was laying the foundations of the Church. The mission would no longer depend on his physical presence. It would now advance through obedient disciples, empowered by God.
This moment reveals an important principle:
Christian life is not limited to believing in Jesus. It also involves faithfully representing Him. The disciples were not called to remain spectators. They were called to become witnesses.
KEY PRINCIPLE
God does not only reveal Himself to His people. He also sends them out.
QUESTION
Are you solely receiving from God, or are you also responding to the call of His mission?
DECLARATION
Jesus Christ continues to call and send His people even today.
Jesus is Lord!
